About StabilRail

Built from decades of railroad, civil, environmental, and utility construction experience.

Built Around the Work

StabilRail Railroad Services brings together experienced people, specialized equipment, and broad self-performing capabilities for complex infrastructure work.

Formed through the merger of Rush Creek Construction and K2 Construction, StabilRail combines deep railroad experience with civil, structural, environmental, geotechnical, utility, site work, and logistics capabilities.

The result is one organization capable of performing more scopes with its own people and equipment, reducing handoffs and giving clients one team accountable for getting the work done.

Built Over Decades.
Merged for the Future.

StabilRail was formed in 2026 through the merger of Rush Creek Construction and K2 Construction.

K2 Construction was founded in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2001 by Travis Sondgeroth and Tom Rogge. Beginning with a small underground utility crew, K2 grew into an underground and civil contractor completing more than 800 projects across the Midwest.

Rush Creek Construction was founded in 2006 by Ross Stepan, Rod Beekman, and Roc Beekman. The company grew from earthwork and utility subcontracting into Class I railroad contracting, building experience in rail yards, mainlines, sidings, geotechnical stabilization, environmental restoration, and emergency response.

Two Companies. One Team.

The merger brought complementary experience, equipment, and people together under one self-performing construction platform.

Founded 2001

K2 Construction

K2 developed extensive experience in underground utilities, horizontal directional drilling, geothermal systems, paving, bridges, concrete structures, and civil construction.

800+ Projects
Founded 2006

Rush Creek Construction

Rush Creek developed deep experience in Class I railroad environments, including rail yard expansion, mainline and siding work, stabilization, environmental restoration, and flood response.

Railroad Focused

Rush Creek's Missouri River flood response work in 2010 and 2019 became defining chapters in the company's history. Today, those railroad and emergency-response capabilities work alongside K2's civil and utility experience as part of StabilRail.

More Capability Under One Roof

Railroad and infrastructure projects rarely fit neatly into one scope. StabilRail is structured to perform more of the work with one team.

Self-Performing Workforce

Experienced crews across railroad, civil, structural, environmental, geotechnical, utility, and specialty work.

Specialized Equipment

More than 200 owned assets support field execution, mobilization, and specialized construction operations.

Integrated Delivery

Multiple scopes can work through one organization, reducing handoffs and simplifying project coordination.

Rapid Mobilization

Crews, equipment, and support resources can mobilize for planned construction and urgent infrastructure needs.

How We Approach Every Day

Six values guide how StabilRail's people approach the work, the client, and one another.

Safety

A company-wide commitment from leadership to the field.

Integrity

We say what we're going to do and do it.

Quality

The standard goes beyond what the specification requires.

Self-Motivation

We take initiative and don't wait to be told to act.

Teamwork

The best crews work for each other, not just alongside.

Accountability

Every person on the project owns the outcome.

Leadership

StabilRail's leadership brings together railroad, heavy civil, engineering, estimating, safety, and specialized construction experience.

Proven Across Demanding Environments

StabilRail's teams work where infrastructure, operating requirements, environmental conditions, and difficult access make execution more demanding.

That experience spans active Class I railroad corridors, rail yards, bridges and structures, waterways, industrial facilities, federal sites, underground infrastructure, remote locations, and sites affected by floods, washouts, derailments, and other emergencies.
